Keep your service running smoothly by updating menu availability and wait times directly from the Crew App. This lets you quickly pause menu categories or sections, or set guest expectations with wait times when things get busy.
💡 Tip: For quick access, log in to the Crew App, then ensure you switch On Duty.

Updating category availability
Availability settings make it easy to control which parts of your menu are available to order. These changes apply at the Category and Section level.
💡 Tip: To update the availability for a specific menu item, log in to Manage or see Making items unavailable or hidden
Steps
1. In the Crew App, go to the More tab and select Availability & Wait Times.
2. Select the Categories tab
Log in using your Manage credentials, or you’ll be logged in automatically if you’ve signed in before.
3. Select the Categories and/or Sections you’d like to update
Choosing a Category will automatically include all Sections within it
Use the arrows on the right-hand side to expand or collapse Categories and view their Sections
4. Click Update status (bottom right) to open the status menu
5. Select Unavailable
6. Choose how long the items should remain Unavailable:
Until next service
Until end of day
Do not clear (remains until cleared manually)
If your venue uses Table Groups, expand the toggle to apply unavailability to specific areas. Select the Table Groups you want the update to apply to
7. Click Confirm to save. The Availability & Wait Times page will update instantly to reflect your changes
8. To make Categories or Sections available again: Select Categories/Sections → Update status → Available → Confirm.
Updating wait times
Wait times help set expectations with guests if some parts of your menu will take longer to get to their table than others. It could be used temporarily - maybe things are a bit busier today? Or it could be used permanently - some items just take longer to make than others
1. In the Crew App, go to the More tab and select Availability & Wait Times.
Log in using your Manage credentials, or you’ll be logged in automatically if you’ve signed in before.
2. Select the Categories and/or Sections you’d like to update
Choosing a Category will automatically include all Sections within it
Use the arrows on the right-hand side to expand or collapse Categories and view their Sections
3. Click Update status (bottom right) to open the status menu
4. Select Wait Time
5. Choose the wait time duration (what the guests will see), and how long you would like the wait time banners to display for
- If you don't want to set a specific wait time, you can choose No estimate. This will show to the guests as Longer wait time
- You can also select Custom for more granular wait times and clear after times
6. Click Confirm to save your changes. The Availability & Wait Times page will update to reflect wait time settings you have just set
Updating item visibility
Item visibility helps venues hide items from the guests if some items are no longer available for ordering. This is common for items that are out of stock or have been removed from the POS
1. In the Crew App, go to the More tab and select Availability & Wait Times.
2. Select the Menu Items Tab
Log in using your Manage credentials, or you’ll be logged in automatically if you’ve signed in before.
2. Select the relevant items that you want to make visible or hidden
Searching the item will show all items by name
You can filter the items by category or by items that were already hidden before this
3. Click Update status (bottom right) to open the status menu
4. Select Visible or Hidden
- Visible makes the item viewable to the guests for ordering
- Hidden hides the item from the menu, so the guests are unable to select that item for ordering
5. Click Confirm to save your changes. The Availability & Wait Times page will update to reflect the item visibility settings you have just set
- Note that these items will stay hidden until you make them visible again manually
