Deleting a contact field removes it entirely from your account, including all data stored in that field. This is a permanent action and cannot be undone, so it should only be done when the field is no longer needed or was created in error.

🔗 Integration-linked fields: Some contact fields are created or required by Connect integrations (e.g. loyalty, sync IDs). These fields are visible to users with delete permissions, but deleting them may break integration connections or data syncs. Proceed with extreme caution. 💡 Before deleting: We strongly recommend exporting your contacts first to keep a backup of your records.

Who can delete a Contact Field: Account Owners or users with Edit Contact Field permission
If you don’t have access:
- You will only see the list of contact fields in view-only mode
- You won’t see the Delete option in the dropdown menu
- In this case, contact your Account Owner for assistance </aside>
💾 Export contacts before deleting
Go to the Contacts page and click the Download icon. You’ll see a message confirming that your contacts are being exported and will be sent to you via email. Check your inbox to download the CSV file of your contact records.

How to delete a contact field:
- Go to your Profile → Settings → Contact Fields
- Select the field you want to remove.
- Before deleting, make sure you've already exported your contacts to keep a backup of your records, as this will permanently delete all data stored in that field.
- Click the three dots (⋮) next to the field to open the dropdown menu
- Select Delete
- To confirm, select Yes, to delete the contact field
