Control what your guests see—based on where they sit
Table groups allow you to customise your menu visibility based on table numbers. This is especially handy for venues with multiple service areas or restrictions (like smoking sections or rooftops), helping you deliver the right menu to the right spot—automatically.
What Are Table Groups?
Table groups are a way to assign different menu categories to specific parts of your venue. Based on the table number a customer enters, Crew will know which section they’re in and show only the relevant categories.
⚠️ Note: When table groups are enabled, customers must enter a table number to view your dine-in menu. Skipping is not allowed, as we rely on table numbers to determine what to display.
When to Update Table Groups
Update your table groups when:

You’re adding new table numbers to your venue

You’re introducing a new service area, such as a rooftop or outside seating
-
You want to reorganise existing table numbers into new groups
Step-by-Step: Update Table Groups
1. Review Your Table Setup
Decide what changes you need—whether it's adding new table numbers to existing groups or creating new areas altogether.
2. Export the Existing Template

In Manage, go to Venue Details > Table Groups

Click Export CSV

This will download your current table groups for you to review and edit
3. Populate the CSV
You can now:

Add new table numbers to existing groups by editing the Numbers column

Add a new row for a new group (e.g. “Outside”) and include the new table numbers
🧠 Remember: list table numbers using a pipe symbol (

) as a separator
Example:201|202|203
✅ Tip for Long Lists:

Create a new tab and list all table numbers in rows (e.g. C1:C300)

Use this formula:
=CONCAT(C1:C300&"|")

Remove the trailing pipe (
|
), then paste the final value into your template using Paste Values
4. Upload the Updated File

Return to Venue Details > Table Groups

Click Upload CSV and select your edited file

✅ Important: Toggle ON Replace all existing table groups on upload to ensure your changes take effect
Link Table Groups to Menu Categories

Go to Your Menu > Menu Items
-
Click Edit next to a category
-
Scroll to Table Groups and select which group(s) can view this category

Turn on Hide category when unavailable

Repeat for each menu category as needed
Update Table Number Format:

Navigate to Orders > Dine-In Settings > Table Number Format

Set this to Table Groups
Table Number Pop-Up Settings

Go to Venue Info > Hide Table Number Pop-Up

Leave it OFF to force guests to enter a table number (recommended for table groups)

Toggle ON only if you don’t want guests prompted—ideal for more flexible setups
