This article will tell you how to add serving instructions to a menu item so your kitchen will know when to bring it out.

Create modifier options

1. Go to Your menu > Modifiers
2. Click the Modifier options tab
3. Click Create new modifier
4. Complete the form details. For Name, type the option you'd like your customers to have e.g. "With main course" or "With dessert course".
5. Click Create option
6. Repeat steps 3-4 until you've created all of your modifier options.

Note: If your POS automatically syncs with your me&u menu, you'll first need to create these modifiers on your POS.

 

Create a modifier group

1. Go to Your menu > Modifiers

2. Click Create modifier group

3. Fill in the details:

   1. Name: Type in the name a customer would see that would indicate when the menu item should be served, like 'Serving instructions'.

   2. Is a selection required? Select Optional or Required depending on if you'd like every customer to have to indicate when this menu item should be served.

   3. Select type: Select Single

   4. Ordering type(s): Select dine-in if you want it to appear in the dine-in ordering type only.

4. Click Save and continue to create the group

5. You'll automatically be taken to the Modifier options tab

6. Click Add modifier option to add the options you previously created to the group

7. Click the Linked menu items tab

8. Click Link menu items to now choose the menu items that you'd like to having serving instructions for. Note: You can search categories and click Select all to quickly select items in bulk. 

Test that it worked

After these steps, please check your live venue to see if the modifier group has been created. It should look something like the image below:
