This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to perform a self-print test on your printer.
A self-print test is essential for obtaining the printer’s IP address and accessing the CloudPRNT settings, which are crucial for initial printer set up, configuration and troubleshooting.
Follow these steps to perform a self-print test and check your printer's settings:
1. Power Off the Printer: Turn off the printer using the power switch.
2. Hold the FEED
Button: Press and hold the FEED
button on the control panel.
3. Power On the Printer: While holding the FEED
button, turn the printer back on.
4. Release theFEED
Button: Let go of the FEED
button when the printer begins printing.
Note: After the first page has printed, it may take a few seconds for the second page to print. During this wait, if the printer’s error lights blink, allow them to stabilise. The lights may flash quickly before the printer proceeds to print the second page. Be patient and avoid interrupting the process.
5. Review the Reports: Two paper will print.
This confirms that the printer is online and functioning correctly, including proper printing on the paper.
-
- Ignore the first paper (general details).
- Check the second paper for network settings, including the IP address at the bottom.
- Use the self-print test to verify settings, troubleshoot issues, or document configurations before resetting your printer.
