Understanding LED Indicators on me&u Printers

Refer to the Star Micronics guide to read and interpret ALL the error codes or LED status and determine whether the flashing LED indicates internet-related issues or hardware problems like low paper or a cover-open error. 

 

Common Error Indicators and Fixes for TSP650II Thermal Printer

Error Indicators How to Fix
Paper End Error ERROR LED flashes (1 second on/off intervals). Load a new paper roll and close the printer cover.
Cover Open Error ERROR LED is steady. Ensure the cover is securely closed.
Link Disconnection (Ethernet) Both POWERand ERROR LEDs flash at intervals. Check and reconnect the Ethernet cable; restart the printer.
IP Address Lost (Ethernet) LEDs flash very rapidly (0.125-second intervals). Correct the IP address settings and restart the printer.

Error Indicators How to Fix
Paper End Error POWER LED on, ERROR LED flashes (1 second on/off). Replace the paper roll and close the cover.
Front Cover Open POWER LED flashes, ERROR LED steady. Close the front cover securely.
Ethernet Link Disconnection LEDs flash at regular intervals (2 seconds). Reconnect the Ethernet cable and restart the printer.
IP Address Lost (Ethernet) LEDs flash very rapidly (0.125-second intervals). Correct IP settings and restart the printer.

 

Tips for Error Prevention

  • Always use recommended paper and avoid forcing paper rolls.
  • Keep the printer clean and free from dust or debris.
  • Ensure proper connections for Ethernet or peripheral cables.

  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is in an area with a strong and stable signal. Weak signals can cause intermittent connectivity issues.

  • Even with fast speeds, an unstable connection with frequent dropouts can disrupt printer performance.

  • Test stability during peak times (e.g., Saturday night) and compare it to off-peak times (e.g., Monday afternoon) for a realistic assessment.
