In Reward, we use validation rules to establish requirements for applying promotions or vouchers. You have the flexibility to use any number of validation rules. These rules are applicable to various types of promotions, including memberships, gift vouchers, percentage/amount/fixed type vouchers, and free item promotions.
How to add validation rules to your promotions
- Create your voucher until you reach the Discount Value tab.
- Scroll down until you see Validation Rules and select New
- Select New builder
- Scroll down and click on Add rules / Edit rules if you have already added a rule.
- Add any combination of validation rules listed in the following section
- Once you've added all of your validation rules, click on Save
- Click on Next step to proceed with your promotion creation

Site validation
- Apply discount for specific ordering types, e.g. apply discount for Dine In but not Takeaway.
- If you have multiple sites in your organisation, you can choose to apply the discount only at specific sites.
Order and customer validation
Items validation
- Apply discount to specific items.
- Apply discount to items within a menu section.
- Apply discount to items within a menu category.
Next steps
After adding all your validation rules, you can add the discount ID from your POS if you're integrated with Swiftpos, Maitre'd, Tevalis, Doshii, or Deliverect (see Adding POS ID). If not, you can skip adding the discount ID and finish your promotion.
