This article explains the different types of discounts you can create with Reward. In Reward, you can choose between four types of discounts: Order Discount, Product Discount, Rewards (Free products) and Free Shipping.

How to setup your discount value
- Create your voucher until you reach the 3. Discount value tab
- Choose either Order Discount, Products Discount, Rewards (Free Products) or Free Shipping
Order Discount
These discounts are applied to the whole cart, which means the sum of all products in the order (total order amount). Three discount types can be applied: amount, percent, new price.
- + Add Discount > Order Discount
- Choose the Discount type (applies to whole cart)
- $ Amount Discount
- % Percent Discount
- New Price (sets order to a specified $ amount)
- Add an amount under Discount value
Products Discount
Product discounts determine how discounts are, or are not, applied to individual products or collections.

Amount discount: Apply the discount to item subtotal This effect applies the discount to the product order lines.
- Amount discount: Apply the full discount to each item unit. This effect applies the discount to each product unit.

Amount discount: Split the discount proportionally to amount This effect splits and applies the discount to the chosen items proportionally to their share in the total discounted items amount.
- Amount discount: Split the discount proportionally to quantity. This effect splits and applies the discount to the chosen items proportionally to their share in the total discounted items quantity per line item. Each product unit will be counted as an individual line item. In the case of multiple product units in the line item, the quantity will be higher, and therefore, the proportional discount by quantity will also be higher.
- + Add Discount> Products Discount
- Choose the Discount Type
- Add the Amount discount or Percent discount(%)
- You can optionally add maximum discount amount per order, e.g. discounts 10% with a maximum of $20 discount per order.
- In Discounted products, choose Selected and set which products to apply the discount towards
- You can optionally choose which items to exclude from the discount
- In Validation Rules select Configured Options Only
- If you wish to add additional rules such as discount will only apply for certain order types, select With Rules
Free Products / Rewards
This is a beta feature and not currently supported by all POS integrations.
Please ensure you do a full test of the code after creation to ensure the transaction with the free product added hits your POS fully. Example: Free Coke with Minimum Spend $40
Prerequisite : This type of discount is based on the items added to the Products section in the Voucherify Dashboard. Follow the article How to add products from Serve into Reward.
- Discount effect > Free Products
- Under Unit quantity, add the desired quantity of free items. If you're creating a buy one get one promotion, add 1
- Under Free product, add the free product (if you have not added the product to Reward, see Adding products from Serve)
Next Steps
Once you've selected and added your discount values, you can add validation rules / requirements for the promotion (see Adding validation rules)
Otherwise, you can click on Next step to add the discount ID from your POS if you're integrated with Swiftpos, Maitre'd, Tevalis, Doshii, or Deliverect (see Adding POS ID). If not, you can skip adding the discount ID and finish your promotion.
