Email templates in Connect are reusable email designs you build once and use again whenever you need to send a similar message. They have no sending information attached — that's the job of a campaign or automation — so the same template can power a Monday newsletter one week and a Friday promo the next.

Templates, campaigns, and automations — what's the difference?
It's easy to mix these three up because they all live inside Connect. Here's how they relate:
- A template is a saved email design — content blocks, layout, colours, and copy. No recipients, no send time.
- A campaign is a one-off send. You pick a template (or build one inline), set your sender details, subject line, audience, and schedule, then send it once.
- An automation is a triggered send. You pick a template and set rules — for example, "send this welcome email two minutes after a guest joins our database". The same template fires every time the trigger conditions are met.
💡 Tip — If you find yourself rebuilding the same email design more than once, that's the moment to save it as a template.
When to use a template
Templates are most useful when you'll send a similar-looking email more than once. Common use cases:
- Recurring newsletters — monthly updates, weekly events, seasonal promotions
- Automation messages — welcome emails, birthday rewards, win-back flows
- Form confirmation emails — the email guests receive after submitting a webform
- Branded base designs — a starter template with your colours, logo, and footer that anyone in your team can build from
