Step-by-Step Guide
🛠️ Part 1: Import Items from POS via Bulk Operations

Prepare your POS items in Lightspeed Kounta with correct pricing and modifiers (option sets)

In me&u, go to Your Menu > Menu Items

Click Bulk Operations

Click Import from POS
-
Use the search bar to find the items you want to import

Tick the checkbox next to each item you want to import
⚠️ Make sure you're selecting menu items, not modifiers

Click Import Items

Choose the category and section where you'd like the item to appear

Repeat steps as needed for additional items
✅ Any modifiers linked in Kounta will automatically link to the item in me&u
✅ Part 2: Activate Items on Your me&u Menu
After importing, items will need to be activated manually:

Go to Your Menu > Menu Items

Click into the relevant menu category

Click into your imported item

Edit the item name and description if needed

Assign the correct item category (e.g. Sides, Appetisers)

Do I have to import each item manually?
Yes, items do not appear automatically. Each new item must be imported individually via Bulk Operations. -
It says "no menu item selected" even though I ticked the checkbox. Why?
This usually happens if you accidentally selected a modifier instead of a menu item. Only menu items can be imported directly. -
I've imported items, but they’re not visible to customers.
Double-check if the items are toggled ON as Visible on Menu (see Part 2 of this guide). -
How does the sync work?
The sync happens automatically when you make changes in your POS. me&u will pull these updates. -
I updated my POS, but I don’t see the changes in me&u yet.
Syncs may take up to 10 minutes to reflect updates. Avoid making POS changes during service hours. - Does deleting items from POS remove them from me&u?

Items: No. You must delete them in both POS and me&u

Modifiers: Yes. Removing a modifier in POS will unlink it from me&u and make the item unavailable

Will changes made in me&u sync back to POS?
No. Changes made in me&u (e.g. names, photos, descriptions) will not update your POS. The sync is one-way only. -
It’s been a while and nothing has updated—what now?
