Roles define the access levels and permissions for each user in your account. By assigning roles, you can control which features and areas of the system a user can access. This helps you manage security, accountability, and efficiency across your team.
The View Role option lets you quickly see what access levels are assigned to a specific role without making any changes.
Tip: Start with a system role, then duplicate to customise when you need finer control. For full Detailed permissions, see article: Roles & Permissions Overview

What can you do in Role's Section?
System Roles
Every account includes a set of ready-made system roles. These are designed to cover the most common permission levels, making it quick to assign access when adding new users.
By default, the platform provides five core roles
- Account Owner – all privileges
- Administrator – advanced access, account and user management
- Manager – operational access for campaigns, contacts, and workflows
- Standard – regular user access with limited editing rights
- Read-Only – view access only
⚙️ How to view a system role
- Go to Settings > Roles
- Locate the role you want to review
- Click View Role next to the role name
- A permissions screen will open showing all categories of access granted to that role

Custom Roles
Create custom roles when your team has specific needs, like limiting billing access or granting view-only access to sensitive areas
💡To view a customised role and see its permissions
- Click the three dots (⋮) next to Edit
- Select View
What You Can Do in the Roles Section
Within the Roles section, you can:
🧭 When to Use Roles
Use roles when setting up new users, changing responsibilities, or reviewing access for compliance.
- Confirm what access rights a role has before assigning it to a new user
- Audit roles for compliance or troubleshooting (e.g. if a user can’t see or do something)
- Compare roles before duplicating or editing them
🎯 Why this is useful
Well-defined roles prevent unauthorised access, protect data integrity, and help teams work efficiently with clear access boundaries.
- Ensures the right people have the right permissions
- Helps reduce security risks by preventing unnecessary access
- Saves time by showing all permissions in one place, without needing to guess or test user access
💡 Best Practice
Start with a system role for simplicity. If you need more control, duplicate it and fine-tune the permissions to match your team’s access needs.
