How is my SwiftPOS connected to me&u?
Every menu item and modifier in SwiftPOS has a unique code, also called a Product ID. These codes are entered into me&u so that when a customer orders on me&u, your POS can receive the order and knows what it is.
We need these product IDs so that when we sync with your SwiftPOS menu, we can link each individual item to its product ID so that a menu item can be correctly identified by the POS and properly printed.
Do orders go into my POS straight after the customer pays?
Dine-in orders will go into your POS straight after the customer pays on me&u. There is usually about a 30-second delay until they appear.
If you are doing takeaway and using our ordering windows feature, you have the option to allow the orders to go into your POS and print straight away or closer to the chosen ordering window for pre-orders.
For example, if a customer is placing an order on Monday for Friday, you can choose for the order to go through to your POS and print either on Monday or on Friday for a chosen amount of time prior. Here is how to activate Order-ahead Windows.
If I change something in SwiftPOS - does it automatically update in me&u?
It depends on what changes you have made to the item.
Things that are automatically updated in me&u:
- Price in Cents
- Display Price
- Availability (affected by stock count)
- Adding Modifier
- Removing Modifiers
- Modifier Group Rules
Things that won’t update after the initial import:
- Product Name
- Description
- Dietary
- Modifier Name
- Modifier Group Name
- Modifier Position
Things that won't be synced
- Photos
- Upsells
- Price overrides
