Physical Setup
Step 1: Unboxing the printer
Within the printer box, you should receive:
- The Thermal Printer
- Test Paper
- Power Plug
- Instructions
You would need to source an Ethernet cable on your own as it's not included in the printer box.
Step 2: Setting up the printer
- Plug the power cable into the back of the printer and connect it with the nearest power source
- Insert your test paper roll into the printer
- Close the front and back of the printer, and tear off the extra paper
Step 3: Connecting to the internet
You can connect to the internet either via ethernet cable or wifi adaptor.
Via Ethernet cable without Wi-Fi adapter:
- Insert the ethernet cable to the back of the printer facing up
- Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to your internet modem
- The printer will need to stay connected via cable in the same location
Via Ethernet cable with Wi-Fi adapter:
- Connect the ethernet cable to the back of the printer facing up
- Connect the Wi-Fi adaptor into the USB port
- Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to your internet modem
- The printer would need to remain connected via ethernet during setup but can be unplugged once completed
Step 4: Retrieving the printer's IP address
You would now need to retrieve the printer's IP address to continue your setup
- Once printer is plugged in to internet modem, wait for red flashing light to turn green
- Once green, turn off the printer
- Turn on the printer while holding down the circle 'Feed' button
- Wait until it starts printing then let go
- Two pieces of paper will be printed
- The first can be discarded
- The second piece will print which includes your IP address
- Note down your printer's IP address for the online setup
